New Year's Day

Hi everyone, and a big Happy New Year!

I hope you all had a lovely entry into 2013, whether a quiet and cosy one or a wild and raucous one!

This is just a quick outfit post today , massive apologies for the quality for some of these photos…I realised I had the camera on a close up setting so some of them are blurry, then it started raining so I couldn’t retake them…blimmin’ British weather! (Also excuse the second day curls, t'was a lazy hair day!)

Wellies – Hunter
Jeans – Topshop Leigh Jeans (old)
Top – Topshop Link!
Headband – ASOS (old)

This is what I wore yesterday (New Year’s Day). I caught a train to go and visit my Godparents (and brother-from-another-Mother, their son Philip) by the coast for their annual New Year’s Day roast. My parents had already been there for a couple days along with other family friends and it was so good to see them all! We spent the afternoon eating, playing board games (we are a rather competitive bunch!), eating, exchanging presents, eating, going for rambling walks (hence the hunters), eating, drinking, eating aaaand….eating. My Godfather had made blackberry vodka and sloe gin, both were naughtily delicious and went down far too smoothly, I want to make some for next Christmas!

So a pretty basic and comfy outfit: jeans and a big sloppy knit, perfect for when you’ve had a few too many Quality Streets….guilty! The Hunters were part of my Christmas present from Mike, I LOVE THEM and I’ve worn them loads already! I asked for the Navy gloss originals and the boy delivered; I’m not overly keen on the matte ones and wanted a dark neutral colour I could put with everything. My massive snug parka and furry headband kept me nice and toasty – I seriously can’t get enough of these headbands, I think I have about 12! Oh, and the Parka was a bargain that I've worn to death from good ol' Matalan!

My Mulberry pendant is actually the padlock from my Bayswater. I took it off as it got in the way when I opened/closed the bag, but it’s far too cute to leave in its dustbag! I put it on an old chain that had lost whatever used to hang from it, and wear it proudly round my neck :) The last picture is just to show the nails - Caite's 'Cookies and Cream' with accent nail Model's Own 'Hot Stuff' from the Mirror Ball collection.

Also rediscovered my favourite old lipstick, will post about it soon but here's a kinda sneak preview, not the best picture though sorry!

Anyway, enough rambling! Tonight will be my first night at home for about 10 days, I've been pretty much living at Mike's, so Mum and I are making bruschetta followed by spag bol and garlic bread - let me tell you it smells INCREDIBLE!

Hopefully will do an outfit post again tomorrow!

Speak soon!
