Happy Jar :)

Hi everyone!

Following from my New Years post earlier this week, this is a little something else I want to keep up this year. A lot of bloggers are doing this and I’ve seen loads of posts about them, as well as loads of things on Pinterest and Tumblr.

I am, of course, talking about the happy memories jar…

 Ta-Dah!

If you haven’t heard about them, here’s the concept:

Basically, get yourself a jar/box. Throughout the year, fill it with happy memories written on a piece of a paper. Then on New Years Eve of this year, open up your jar and read back on all the wonderful times and memories you had in 2013! Isn’t it great?!
For my jar, I picked up this large cookie jar from Matalan for £5! It’s just the size I was looking for as I want to put other rings in there - tickets from my travels, places I've been, things I've been to see etc. I just wrapped around a duck egg green silk ribbon that was lurking in my box of gift wrapping bits, a Chanel ribbon from the wrapping of some cosmetics Mike gave me for Christmas and clipped on a cutesy bow (actually a hair clip from Primark – bet you wouldn’t believe me if I told you £1 for two of them?!). I also added this luggage style gift tag, also from my gift wrapping box, to write “2013 – Happy Memories Jar”.

Here’s a few little things I have to look forward to this year…

❤ My 21st in February! ….and most of my friends turning 21 as well, much celebration!

❤ Mike and my 3rd anniversary

❤ Mum’s 50th. We are going to center parcs for a weekend – my mum, dad, my brother his girlfriend, Mike & I. For Christmas Mum & Dad bought everyone a spa day, so I’m very much looking forward to this weekend!

❤ Glastonbury festival (YYYYYYYEEEEEEEEEEESSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS!!!!!!!!!!)

❤ My Uni summer ball. Not your typical ball…more of a massive party in a field/mini festival complete with fair ground rides and loads of live acts. SO much fun!

❤ A fortnight in Spain with my cousin, her husband and their beautiful children

❤ Starting my placement year – admittedly right now this is actually putting the fear of God into me, I haven’t got anything sorted yet and it does seem to be looming!

...And then before you know it will be Christmas again - YAY!

Sorry this post is so late into January, I originally bought a jar two weeks ago, was taking it downstairs to take pictures for this post and I dropped it on our tiled kitchen floor! It smashed into a million pieces, and I’ve only just had a chance to buy a new one – luckily at only £5 I didn’t mind too much :) It's sitting on my windowsill with all my other little knick-knacks, although it looks a tad bare as pretty much all my personal and girlie stuff is at Uni!

Also, following on with my 'positive thinking for 2013', I've got this seriously cute calendar that has a different saying for each month. I think I'll blog each one each month as they are just such silly/cute/funny words! Here's January's...

"If you feel there is something missing in life but you are not sure what it is...it is almost always a biscuit."

Anyway, just thought I would share these! I think everyone should do a happy jar, such an easy and cheap thing to do and I can’t wait to start making memories to fill it with.
